@@@^Now is everyone’s chance to decide to be either on the one side or on the other, either to reform and be led by the faithful bay horses, or to cling to the self-important grisled horses and stay by them in the south country, there to perish. Here is indeed a momentous decision to be made by every member of the Denomination. It calls for action that will decide the future destiny of the laity as well as of the ministry.

@@@^Here you note, Elders, that this scripture is not condemning your wicked deeds by way of example. It directly condemns the deeds of the shepherds of the Israel of today. This fact you find in verse 22 to 24, which declare that after the unfaithful and selfish shepherds are done away with, then it is that the @9one@7 shepherd, antitypical David, takes over and he alone thereafter very carefully prepares and distributes the feed to the flock of God. Clothing yourselves with the wool, and feeding on the fat from God’s sheep, but doing nothing for them in time of need is the awful charge against you Elders, and who can in truth deny your guilt?

@@@^If you are convinced of the facts brought out in these pages, and if you pray for forgiveness and for guidance, then happy shall you be, and your hope shall not be in vain. But if this fails to open your eyes, then what hope is there for you but forever to abide in your Laodicean self-deception and to spend eternity in the company of those who crucified the Lord? The Spirit’s recommendation for the Laodicean malady is this: “Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Do as the noble Bereans who “received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11. “Knowing this first that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation” (2 Peter 1:20), that only by Divine gift of interpretation can prophecy be interpreted. Cease from all un-Adventist activities; return to God. Shun uninspired interpretations of the Scriptures lest you be led not by the Spirit of “all Truth,” but by the spirit of the Devil that is working through everyone who engages in private interpretations of the Scriptures to keep himself and others in darkness and away from the Spirit of Truth for this very time. “Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” (Isa. 2:22), but do something to save them. @4Faithfully yours for a revival and reformation such as has never been seen (9 T 126), @4@9[Signature]@7@4V. @@@^We plead with you brethren to cease listening to the false peace and safety cry of these misleading men who have their faith in false church prosperity. Rather, listen to what Christ is saying to the Laodiceans. Believe Him for His Word’s sake and escape for your life’s sake. Anoint your eyes with this Heaven-offered salve that your eyes may stay open, and thus have your name written in His book of life instead of having it in the books of men who now use the books’ records only as a means of raising money to feed themselves, to fight the Truth, and to keep God’s people ignorant of It, and at the same time making believe that they are Heaven’s highest church authorities. @@@^Yes, it is a great undertaking and a great work with a great promise, requiring multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars and all the able and willing bodies He can get to hunt hundreds of thousands of Seventh-day Adventists “in the holes and in the rocks” world over. To say a tremendous responsibility hardly describes the load, but as plain as day stands the fact that it is worthwhile, that we cannot fail, and that His people will respond both to the message and to the help of the Lord against the mighty. And how thankful we ought to be that everyone is given the privilege and the opportunity in one way or in another to share the “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

@@@^Having returned to God and having tasted of this new experience with the Lord, His faithful people long to meet together and speak their blessings one to another. Being mindful of their gladness of heart, and of their longing to communicate His goodness one to another, He promises to write a book of everlasting remembrance.

@@@^Many diseases, of course, are wrongly classed as contagious. For example, tuberculosis is not actually communicable, for when one becomes infected with the disease, he can effect a cure if while it is yet in its early stages, he begins to live right. Obviously, then, if one always lives right, he need not fear of the disease ever getting a foothold in his body. So in the last analysis a number of diseases so-called contagious are not in reality such. Strictly speaking, they are infectious, brought on by oneself. And now, how fortunate should one consider himself to know that right living and right doing, with faith in God, actually do away with a multitude of sorrows!

@@@^Always remember that city life is artificial and not in God’s plan for His children today any more than it was for them in the days of Lot; that curse and destruction devoured all the ancient cities, and that they were finally buried deep under the ground; that the city evils today surpass the evils of all times, and that doom is as certain today as it was yesterday; that if you cannot now move out of the city, and if you wish to escape its doom and be found worthy to share the future blessings with the faithful, you have a task to perform — you must sooner or later, at a moment’s notice, run away from it with your back against it. @@@^This greatly needed project of caring for the poor and sick, called forth by the One Who is interested in us all, can, we believe, now be managed as it was in the days of the prophets: by a faithful second tithe paid by a people who realize that it is better to give than to receive, — better, indeed, to help others than to have others help them; that he who gives is happier than he who receives. Figuratively speaking, each Christian should determine to be a water pipe, a pipe which ever gives and yet never goes empty, instead of a sewer pipe which ever receives and never gets filled.

@@@^The pages of the Bible are replete with such Heaven-condemned perpetrations. Notable among them is the unholy alliance between the king of Israel and the king of Syria against the kingdom of Judah (the sister kingdom of Israel). The Scriptures concerning this alliance, not only prohibit a church confederation with any government that would involve brother killing brother in the faith, but also assure such a violator of a downfall from which there is no possible rising. This is quickly seen from the fact that the confederacy did not succeed in breaking Judah; but rather that God employed the predatory power, Assyria, swiftly to break the confederacy, to destroy both kings, and to scatter Israel and Syria throughout the cities of the Medes, even though Judah herself was not wholly devoted to God. (See Isa. 7:2, 7, 8; 8:4, 9-14).

@@@^So in order for us to promote honor unto God and blessing unto the nations of which we are citizens, we must be as faithful in the Word of God as was Daniel and the three Hebrews in ancient Babylon, and as was Joseph in ancient Egypt, and thus national as well as international missionaries.
