@@@^The following scriptures bear further evidence. Said the heavenly host: “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for @9the fine linen@7 is the @9righteousness of saints@7. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” Continued the Angel, “Come hither, I will shew thee the @9Bride@7, the @9Lamb’s wife@7…and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.” (Rev. 19:7-9; 21:9, 10.) Therefore, the Lamb’s wife is the @9Holy City @7and not the church, and those called to the marriage supper (the saints) are the guests. (See “The Great Controversy,” page 427.) They who were before the throne, said of the @9New Jerusalem: @7“His wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted [to the city] that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white…for the @9fine linen@7 is the rigteousness of @9saints@7.” (Rev. 19:7, 8.) Therefore, the Lamb’s wife will be ready at the close of probation when the saints are numbered, for they are her “linen.” As at the time the woman (Babylon) was burned, the saints (linen) were ready. Her destruction shall be a signal that probation has closed. Then some shall be conscious of their doom and shall say, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jer. 8:20.) Others shall “wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the words of the Lord, and shall not find it.” (Amos 8:12.) When God’s people shall have ceased from their God given work, their answer will be: “We have nothing for you, the harvest is past, salvation has ceased, you are too late.”
Exodus 158:1
@@@^Preliminary to that miracle working power, Protestantism, Catholicism and Spiritualism will have grasped each other’s hand by means of a church federation. The difference of opinion in doctrinal points will be considered of no vital importance to salvation. They will see in that apparently innocent union a great movement for the settlement of differences as well as for the conversion of the world. At the appearance of the false prophet, and of Satan himself, their expectations would be realized, and the ushering in of the long expected millennial time of peace shall be proclaimed to be at hand. Thus on the surface it will bear evidence that the world’s crises are about to end. But as God’s people have been warned of it all, they refuse to worship the image of the beast, which is a false international religion, and will be charged as rebellious, disturbers of the peace, and trouble makers. This will bring the great persecution of Revelation 12:17.
Exodus 164:2
@@@^Says the apostle: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God.” (1 Peter 4:17.) The fact that to the “Seventh-day Adventist” church alone has come just such a message as the one mentioned, presented to them in “The Shepherd’s Rod,” Vol. 1, is an additional proof that this particular church is the house of God. This time of judgment is also called the “time of harvest.” “Let both grow together until the harvest,” said Christ, “and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matt. 13:30.) The words of our Master are in perfect harmony with the typical day of atonement, foretelling that it is a day of separating the tares from the wheat, or cutting off of the unrepentant sinners from among God’s people (purification of the church). Therefore, the harvest commences with the closing work for the church. Said Christ: “Let both grow together @9until@7 the harvest.” In Revelation 14:4, speaking of the 144,000 we read, “They are the @9first fruits@7 unto God and to the Lamb.” Therefore, it is evident that in the purification or separation of the tares from the wheat in the church of God, there shall be 144,000 who have confessed their sins; and are thus made white and clean by the precious blood of Christ, for they are “the @9first fruits@7.” This is also proven by the “Spirit of Prophecy,” for we read: “This sealing of the servants of God is the same that was shown to Ezekiel in vision.”—“Testimonies to Ministers,” page 445. We quote from “Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 3, p. 266: “The true people of God, who have the spirit of the work of the Lord, and the salvation of souls at heart, will ever view sin in its real, sinful character. They will always be on the side of faithful and plain dealing with sins which easily beset the people of God. Especially in the @9closing work for@7 the @9church@7, in the @9sealing time@7 of @9the@7 144,000.”
Exodus 167:1
@@@^“ ‘After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb… These are they which came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb’… Rev. 7:9, 17.
Exodus 167:4
@@@^While Ezekiel calls them “men,” John says they are “virgins.” (Rev. 14:4.) Now, if we should take the position that Ezekiel means men only, then we can as well say, John means women only. Can it be possible that one writer should contradict the other? No indeed. We conclude by the following Scriptures that the 144,000 are of both sexes: “The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the light, that all @9men@7 through him might believe.” (John 1:7.) “@9All men@7,” must include both men and women, otherwise salvation would be for men only. “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all @9men@7 unto me.” (John 12:32.) If the word all @9men@7 in this text does not include both sexes, then the women are lost. “And the time of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all @9men@7 everywhere to repent.” (The Acts 17:30.) Again, if “@9all men@7” include not both male and female, then women are not commanded to repent. It is evident that the noun, @9men@7, is a collective Biblical term of both men and women. The same is true by creation, for, God made the woman of the man. Therefore, she is a @9wo-man@7. Again in Gal. 3:28, we read: “There is neither male nor female: for ye are @9all one@7 in Christ Jesus.”
Exodus 175:2
@@@^When Christ @9shall come@7 “as lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west,” these false prophets shall be ashamed. The Revelator also declares: “Behold, He cometh @9with clouds@7; and @9every@7 eye shall @9see Him@7, and they also which @9pierced Him@7: [that is, they that pierced him shall be resurrected prior to His coming. See Dan. 12:2] and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.” (Rev. 1:7.) Yes, our Christ shall come and we shall see Him as He is, “And it shall be said in that day, Lo this is our God: @9we have waited @7for@9 Him@7, and He will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for @9Him@7, we will be @9glad@7 and rejoice in @9His salvation@7.” (Isa. 25:9.)
Exodus 188:1
@@@^The heavenly sanctuary being for confession and the blotting out of sin, it could not have existed before sin entered and brought about the necessity for such a structure. Although the sanctuary service was originated after Adam sinned, the plan of salvation had always existed, and was revealed in, and by, the sanctuary service. Thus the plan that preceded the fall is found in Christ, in whom there was and is redeeming power for all.
Exodus 213:5
@@@^On Verses 14-17, comment is found in “Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 9, pp. 267, 268: “‘And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were removed out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bond man, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Rev. 6:12-17.) After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb… These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.’… Revelation 7:9-17.”
Exodus 238:1
@@@^Here we see another type. God’s truth to the world @9before the Bible came@7, coincides with His truth @9in the time of the Bible@7, showing that God has but one truth, one Christ, and one gospel in all ages. Therefore, the idea taught by self-styled ministers of the gospel that God had one method of saving people before the Bible came into existence, another in the Old Testament time with the descendants of Abraham, and still another for the New and the Gentiles, etc., is a deception of the Devil and there is no truth in it. Not only the things written prove the truth and exposes the error but even common reasoning tells us there can be no justice in such an ever-changing method of salvation—“For I am the Lord, I change not.”
Exodus 264:4
@@@^My brethren I beg of you hear the voice of the Good Shepherd: “Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for @9henceforth@7 [from now on] there shall @9no more@7 come unto thee the @9uncircumcised@7 and the @9unclean@7. Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit on thy throne, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” (Isa. 52:1, 2; A.R.V.) As these words are so plain, how can we doubt, or misconstrue their meaning?—It must be that the church of God is asleep in the dust! Thy God is calling thee, O Zion. God’s church, “the only object on earth upon which He bestows His supreme regard” is in captivity; she is bound by her “neck” to “men of good words and fair speeches.” Hear the Words of thy God, O Zion, arise and sit on thy throne for thou shall judge nations. Why make flesh thy arm? Is not thy God able to save thee? Is not the “Word of thy God quick, and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart?” “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, @9until@7 the @9righteousness@7 thereof go forth as @9brightness@7, and the @9salvation@7 thereof @9as@7 a @9lamp@7 that @9burneth@7.” My brethren,”@9go@7 through, @9go@7 through the gates; @9prepare ye the way of the people@7; cast up, cast up the @9highway@7; gather @9out@7 the stones; @9lift up a standard for the people.@7” (Isa. 62:1, 10.)
Exodus 266:1
@@@^Jacob, the father in type of Israel the true, dreamed on the way to Padan-Aram, “And behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.” (Gen. 28:12, 17.) Jacob’s dream was prophetic of a time when there will be a complete connection and constant communication with heaven and earth—the “@9loud cry@7” of the third angel’s message—the harvest time. To that glorious church these words apply: “@9This@7 is the house of God and the gate of heaven.” Only by the gospel proclamation through that Spiritual house can God save His people. There is to be One fold, One Shepherd, One Lord, One Truth to embrace, One salvation to accept, One road to travel, One gate to pass through, One train to take, and One time to depart, One Heaven to enter, One people, and One holy family. There can be no other way!
Exodus 267:2
@@@^The earthly sanctuary service for the salvation of the human race, in types and symbols, reveals Christ’s administration in the heavenly. Which was made up of two laws; namely, the “ten commandment” and the “ceremonial” laws. The tables of the ten commandments were put @9in@7 the ark, and the ceremonial or the law of Moses was placed @9on the side@7 of the ark. (See Deut. 10:2; 31:26.) Why two laws? The moral law points out the sin, “for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” (Rom. 3:20.) “For where no law is, there is no transgression.” (Rom. 4:15.) But the ceremonial law “was added because of transgressions till the seed should come to whom the promise was made.” (Gal. 3:19.) Which was the remedy to heal the sinner and set him free from the condemnation of the moral law. When Christ (the @9seed@7) came, He took this law of ordinance (the law of Moses) “out of the way, nailing it to the cross.” (Col. 2:14.) The earthly administration of the law of ordinance could not give life of itself, because it was only a shadow of the true. Therefore, at the crucifixion of Christ it ceased and the heavenly one, which was foreshadowed by the earthly, began. The literal sanctuary service of both temples were identical.
Exodus 268:2
@@@^The foregoing explanation answers one of our questions. The Protestant churches which were raised up before the “woman” returned from the wilderness were in total darkness concerning the sanctuary service. Therefore, they are not represented by the “woman,” or by the “temple,” for, as we stated before, the typical temples represent both sections of the church with @9two divine laws@7; namely, moral and ceremonial. Thus the “woman” represents a church that keep the “commandments of God—moral law, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”—ceremonial law or the plan of salvation revealed in the light of “The Spirit of Prophecy.” (Rev. 12:17.) The reformers, before the “woman” returned from the wilderness, were divinely called out as a preparatory step to bring her back to the “vineyard”; that is, to establish a true anti-typical temple service—true church worship.
Exodus 296:4
@@@^“Then said he unto me, These waters issue out towards the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea.” (Verse 8.) It is remarkable to note how perfect these symbols are in each instance. This direction of the compass denotes that the message of the “@9loud cry@7” is to start eastward when it is first revealed. The church membership being largely east of California and across the Atlantic, naturally the message must start toward the east. This symbolical prophecy reveals that the message of the “@9loud cry@7” is to originate in California. Thus fulfilling the prophetic words of the “Spirit of Prophecy” in a letter to Elder E. E. Andross: “I feel confident Elder Andross, that the brethren in @9Southern California@7 will find a blessing in reviewing the teachings of the Scripture concerning the 144,000 and bringing to bear upon these teachings whatever light there may be in the published writings of the Spirit of Prophecy, and as prayerful consideration is given the matter in all its bearings, I believe that God will make the truth sufficiently clear to make possible the avoidance of needless and unprofitable questions not vital to the salvation of precious souls.”
Deuteronomy 4:8
@@@^Therefore, the “keys” which Christ gave to Peter is the commission of the gospel, and as long as Peter was carrying this commission, he, and those who joined to proclaim the message with him, had the keys of the kingdom by which they could bind or loose on earth and be sanctioned in heaven. Thus it is evident that a message from heaven, proclaimed by God’s chosen servant, is all-powerful, and by it man’s destination concerning his salvation is decided.
Joshua 2:4
@@@^Suppose that minister had preached his Denver sermon in Moses’ time, would the earth have opened under him, or would he have been smitten while preaching? At which time did God ever excuse any one for not believing His prophets? “Believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper,” saith the Lord. (2 Chron. 1:20.) Let God’s people take notice. Has our church come to such a place where she can say, It matters not whether the members believe their prophet or not, and yet have them think that their salvation is secured while sinning against the Holy Ghost, committing the unpardonable sin? From whence cometh their authority for such sacrilege? Though many of the ministers ought to be thankful that at this time God does not immediately execute His judgments, their sorrow is in reserve. How long will God bear with this wickedness! Let us not be misunderstood in the above. We are hoping to rescue our brother from the “pit” which he is fast approaching. Will not God’s people hear our cry and join us in prayer that God do something to awaken His church? or shall we let the enemy rock us into hell?

@@@^“Moreover,” we might continue to reason, “what success do you suppose we could hope for in getting the sealing message to the church if we should support that side which is rising against us like the waves of the sea? No, my Brother, if we should continue paying our tithe to them, we would not only be weakening our power against the enemy, but also our position with the message we bear, for then they would think, and justly so, that if we had something vital to their salvation, we would dare not before heaven do other than place our gifts to the advancement of the present message and not the past message. To do the latter would, instead of winning the sheep, not only drive them away, but also would strengthen the forces of the enemy and weaken God’s, for no man can fight his adversaries by lending them his weapons with which to stand strong against him.”

@@@^The Lord has been very merciful in showing me my true condition that I might repent and make sure my salvation. I had been working at a hospital where I had to be 5 or 6 hours on the Sabbath, but now I have given up my work and have closed my account with the world. And now God has given me a little season for study and self preparation to get ready to help finish the work and meet Him when He comes for His faithful servants. @3 Signed) Mrs. M. L. @@@^@9Question: @7“Does not the attitude of the SRod toward foreign mission work give to its opposers a chance to accuse it of not being interested in the salvation of those who are in the world, and thus hinder its own progress in getting its message to the church?”
