@@@^And now, if you have enjoyed, appreciated, and profited by this Gift, and if you desire to keep pace with the progress of the Truth, the publishers of this booklet will as a Christian service send, upon request, an additional GIFT — a series of Present Truth publications, consisting of twenty-one booklets, and aggregating 1,682 pages, fully illustrated. It levies but one exaction — the soul’s obligation to itself to prove all things and hold fast that which is good.
Revelation 5:2
@@@^These truths, Divinely revealed, are of supreme importance to the church just now because of the trying, sifting circumstances through which God’s people are soon to pass. Being vital concerns to salvation, they call for decided action from ministry and laity alike to separate themselves from all worldliness and to anchor themselves on the Solid Rock by obedience to all the truth known to the church, if they would escape the forthcoming ruin that is to take every sinner.
Revelation 8:5
@@@^And while she was in confusion on the subject, the Spirit of Truth pronounced silence on it then to be “eloquence.” But eloquence for how long? Forever? — Obviously not, but only until the Lord Himself should unroll the scroll, the sealing commence, and the subject become present truth. Then silence could no longer be eloquence; in fact, not even possible — not if there are ever to be 144,000 sealed and made ready to stand with the Lamb on Mount Zion (Rev. 14:1).
Revelation 51:4
@@@^In confirmation that Pharaoh of today is in effect doing all that can be done to cheat God’s people of a deliverer in this day, we recite the fact that while the Denomination’s Inspired record plainly foretells the coming of a prophet (@9Testimonies to Ministers@7, p. 475), a message, additional truth (@9Early Writings@7, p. 277), the members of the church are not only left ignorant of it but are even warned against it, — taught that they have need of nothing, that they have all the truth to carry them clear through to the Kingdom!
Revelation 73:2
@@@^So, completely disarming the Enemy of souls, the great Designer of these typological truths leaves the reader free to make his own choice as to whether he will continue in the darkness or come out into the Light of the Lord, no longer to wonder what church to join, or what is truth and what is error.
Revelation 85:3
@@@^Now, by subtracting the 430 years from 1930 A.D., we get 1500 A.D., the time the Spirit moved to effect the Protestant Reformation. And as the defiled grains (doctrines) were during the 390 years dispensed to the Protestant congregations, and as the 40-year fast (absence of progressive Truth) occurred in the Seventh-day Adventist Denomination, two truths stand out clearly: first, that the Protestants are in this symbolism termed the “house of Israel”; and second that the Seventh-day Adventists are termed the “house of Judah.” Thus the split which God brought into Solomon’s kingdom necessarily symbolizes the split which exists between Sabbath-keepers and Sunday-keepers.

@@@^Applying the “eyesalve” (Rev. 3:18), they shall “behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace!” And beholding Him, they shall accept His message and know the truth and the truth shall make them free, and shall save them from being spued out of His mouth (Rev. 3:16).

@@@^Accordingly, also the two foods which Immanuel was to eat in order to “refuse the evil, and choose the good” must be symbolical; for butter and honey in themselves possess no virtue or efficacy to transmit moral discernment, vitalize the will, and purify the heart. Besides, He ate of all lawful foods in general (Matt. 11:19). These two points therefore witness that the “butter and honey”, are symbolical of the Scriptures unfolded — “meat in due season,” — the only food that gives one the knowledge and the will to do right instead of wrong. Thus Christ said: “I have meat to eat that ye know not of.” John 4:32. Hence, the Christian who would truly know his God and his church in order to be emptied of evil and be filled with the good, must now feed on Present Truth, — the progressive Truth of the living Word revealed through Inspiration. (For the interpretation of the remainder of Isaiah seven, see our @9Tract No. 6@7.)

@@@^As one sinks the shaft deeper into the mine of Truth, he finds that when Inspiration makes grass figurative of the people, It accordingly makes “rain” figurative of their spiritual nourishment, @9timely@7 Truth. Thus when the terms grass, wheat, or corn are employed to designate the people in the latter days, then the spiritual food necessary to bring them to their full Christian stature is appropriately termed “latter rain” (Zech. 10:1). And to show that it is for the uplifting of humanity, Joel gives it personification in the term, “teacher of righteousness” (Joel 2:23, margin).

@@@^Finally, to create greater appetite for more “butter and honey” (lest we fail to recognize the latter rain as it falls in great drops all around us for the final harvest — @9Testimonies to Ministers@7, p. 507), or, in other words, to implement a thorough study of this all-important revelation, the publishers of this booklet will present a gift set (*—See p. 55) of Present-Truth publications to everyone who submits an idea, correct or incorrect, as to which one of the nations is the “Assyria” of today and who “he” is “that dasheth in pieces;” also as to when the clash of these two mortal enemies takes place. The set is composed of a series of thirteen booklets, aggregating 1000 pages, containing many long-sealed prophetic mysteries now unfolded — the “strong meat.” Those who already have this thirteen-piece set, may upon request receive free of charge a valuable new three-piece companion set of special Present Truth publications. “ . . . for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.” Isa. 7:22.

@@@^Now that considerable time has passed since this tract came off the press (4 years), and since many important events have shaped themselves to maturity since then, our readers of advancing Truth are doubtless now in a more favorable position to see the truth even more clearly and more realistically than before. Hence, for the benefit of all, we are adding these paragraphs. They express the Tract’s view on the subject as time and events are now able to exhibit.

@@@^The truth that the first two sessions take place before the earth flees away, before the world’s present state of being comes to an end; also the truth that the second session closes with the saints who live in the very end of time, the time of the image of the beast, the time just before the earth flees away; — all these provide irrefutable evidence that the first two sessions, the pre-millennial ones bring the present world to an end; that the Judgment is nothing more or less than the separation of the “tares” from the “wheat,” both among the dead and among the living; that it is the interviewing of all the guests with an eye single to determine who have, and who have not, “the wedding garment” on — the very thing that decides who is to be left and who is to be taken into destruction as the earth flees away.

@@@^And now to continue with the study or the subject, it will be well to bear in mind that any interpretation of scripture which fails fittingly to build an indestructible structure of truth and to bring a lesson of special importance for the time then present, is erroneous, uninspired by the spirit of Truth — a vain thing.

@@@^We have now seen that the first six seals reveal a phase of truth covering the history of the world from Adam’s time on to our time. This phase of truth reveals the sealing of the first and second fruits: From among the first fruits come the 144,000 — 12,000 out of each of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. Down through the centuries they have descended first as Jacobites and then as Christians. After these, come the second fruits, the great multitude out “of all nations.” Rev. 7:9-17.

@@@^If the student of Heaven-inspired Truth is to know the object lesson that is taught by this symbolism, he should now carefully notice the significance which the dragon’s crownless horns and his crowned heads carry. Also, if the student of Truth is to profit by what the Scriptures teach, he should fully realize that the preceding as well as the following Scriptural and logical considerations must be heeded.@9 @7

@@@^@9In other words, when one power differs from another, and when they do or do not exist at the same time, Inspiration never overlooks making the distinction. If It did overlook doing so, then think how illogical, incongruous, inconsistent and incomprehensible Its teachings would indeed be, and how futile for anyone even to attempt to know the exact truth! Human wisdom has already demonstrated its inability of itself to comprehend the mysteries of God’s Word, even though they be delineated as perfect as only God Himself can delineate. In fact, the longer a person on his own initiative tries to explain the mysteries of God, the further away from the truth he drifts.@7@9 @7

@@@^We should pray this afternoon for the ability to follow the example of Christ in teaching. We should also pray that we shall remember that we are instructed not to engage in debate with those who disagree with us; that Christ did not debate, and neither must we if we are to win; that God will supply us with fresh truths to bring to the people; that if such truths do not convince the opposers of the “everlasting gospel,” nothing will, even if the dead should arise for a witness against them; that we exalt the Bible above all other books; that we measure all else with the Bible yardstick, and forever break all other measuring sticks.

@@@^@0@9Verse 21 — “For, behold, the Lord cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.”@7@^All these truths which God is now bringing to our attention, point to one thing: That the great and terrible day of the Lord is at hand, that He is soon to manifest His power and shake the earth so that everything that cannot be shaken may stand. Are you not glad, Brother, Sister, that God is giving you first opportunity to get ready for the day of God, to hold fast to His ever-increasing Truth?

@@@^“In turning from God’s word to feed on the writings of uninspired men, the mind becomes dwarfed and cheapened.... The understanding adapts itself to the comprehension of the things with which it is familiar, and in this devotion to finite things it is weakened, its power is contracted, and after a time it becomes unable to expand. All this is false education. The work of every teacher should be to fasten the mind of the youth upon the grand truths of the word of Inspiration. This is the education essential for this life and for the life to come. And let it not be thought that this will prevent the study of the sciences, or cause a lower standard in education. The knowledge of God is as high as heaven and as broad as the universe.... Let the youth seek to grasp these God-given truths, and their minds will expand and grow strong in the effort. It will bring every student who is a doer of the word into a broader field of thought, and secure for him a wealth of knowledge that is imperishable.... Such an education will restore the image of God in the soul.”
