@@@^The sacrifice and religious worship of the two first born in the human family, reveals that the Saviour of the world had made known the divine plan of salvation to the family of Adam. Their system of worship being devised by the Creator Himself, was perfect, and able to save the sinner from his sin. Abel’s careful religious observance, according to the instruction of the Diety whom he worshipped, shows that only such worship, honor and praise, can be acceptable to God. Cain was not mindful of the commandment, and thus by presenting that which God had not required went about to establish a religion of his own. As he immediately afterwards slew his brother it should be an object lesson to all: that a worship according to the inclination of men, however good and innocent it may seem, cannot sanctify and save the worshiper. But instead it takes him deeper into sin, and final ruin. Those who are inclined to persecute the ones who do not worship as they do, are bowing down with Cain at the altar made of bricks. Such altars are the product of man by converting the form of the original; and though more attractive than the altar of stone may seem, there is no sanctifying power in them, and their worship is as deadly as poison. The evidence cannot be denied that both forms of worship (true and false) were introduced at about the same time, and ran side by side. Both seem innocent and were conducted about the same way with the distinction that the one is in harmony with God’s book and law, and the other is @9not@7.

@@@^The following scripture referring to the time the “woman” was destroyed, says: “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of His servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the @9four@7 and @9twenty elders@7 and the @9four beasts @7fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen, Alleluia. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.” (Rev. 19.1-5.)

Said the heavenly host: “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for @9the fine linen@7 is the @9righteousness of saints@7. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.” Continued the Angel, “Come hither, I will shew thee the @9Bride@7, the @9Lamb’s wife@7…and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.” (Rev. 19:7-9; 21:9, 10.) Therefore, the Lamb’s wife is the @9Holy City @7and not the church, and those called to the marriage supper (the saints) are the guests. (See “The Great Controversy,” page 427.) They who were before the throne, said of the @9New Jerusalem: @7“His wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted [to the city] that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white…for the @9fine linen@7 is the rigteousness of @9saints@7.” (Rev. 19:7, 8.) Therefore, the Lamb’s wife will be ready at the close of probation when the saints are numbered, for they are her “linen.” As at the time the woman (Babylon) was burned, the saints (linen) were ready. Her destruction shall be a signal that probation has closed. Then some shall be conscious of their doom and shall say, “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jer. 8:20.) Others shall “wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the words of the Lord, and shall not find it.” (Amos 8:12.) When God’s people shall have ceased from their God given work, their answer will be: “We have nothing for you, the harvest is past, salvation has ceased, you are too late.”

@@@^The definition of “general” is: “extensive but not universal.” Therefore it does not mean the destruction of the world at the appearance of the Lord; but it has reference to the wicked in the church. This slaughter is literal, it is to separate and release God’s people from sin and sinners, otherwise the marking would be of no value. The same subject is again brought to view in “Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 5, page 211: “Here we @9see@7 that @9the church@7—the Lord’s sanctuary—was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God.” The wrath of God cannot, and never has been spiritual. We are again reminded that the 144,000 are the @9remnant@7: “@9Now@7 indeed are the @9remnant@7 ‘men wondered at’ . . . ‘In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely @9for them@7 that are @9escaped@7 of @9Israel@7. And it shall come to pass, That he that is @9left in Zion@7, and he that @9remaineth in Jerusalem@7, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living @9in@7 Jerusalem.’”—“Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 5, page 476. Thus the 144,000 are those who are sealed in the @9judgment for@7 the @9church@7, and with them the judgment for the living commenced. Therefore, they are the first fruits.
Exodus 168:3
@@@^In the beginning God created both the man and the woman equal, as king and queen. “And God blessed @9them@7, and God said unto @9them@7, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Gen. 1:28.) Note that the dominion was given to them both. However, after they sinned a change was made: “Unto the woman He said, . . . thy desire shall be to thy husband, and He shall @9rule over thee@7.” (Gen. 3:16.) So, after the woman sinned she fell under the government of man. But that which Eve lost by deception, shall be restored by redemption. Thus again the equality of both shall be established as kings and queens. Therefore, “There is neither male nor female in Christ Jesus.” Christ himself confirms the idea in the following expression: “For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels which are in heaven.”

@@@^While some of the saints shall be laid to sleep in the time of the “@9loud cry,@7” it is made clear by Revelation 15:1, 2, that all who are alive after probation has closed and before the commencement of the pouring out of the plagues will be translated without tasting death: “And I saw another sign in heaven, great, and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. And I saw as it were a @9sea of glass@7 mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, @9stand on the sea of glass@7 having the harps of God.” The “@9sea of glass@7” is a symbol of @9life eternal@7. (Explained in another chapter.) In as much as all who had gotten the victory stand on the @9sea@7, it denotes that they have passed from death to life, and their destination @9now@7 is “@9God, new Jerusalem@7.”

@@@^The door that is opened after the close of probation is the entrance to @9the holy place@7 which was closed in 1844. After the close of probation the temple is to be filled with the power and glory of God so that @9no@7 man shall be able to enter in till after the seven plagues are fulfilled. Showing that all God’s people stood on the @9sea@7 of @9glass@7 (eternal life) and then probation closed. Thus after Jesus leaves the @9most holy@7 place, God’s servants shall have no funeral sermons to preach and no gospels for sinners.

@@@^The number, “ten”, being a symbol of universal, it represents the church as a body prior to the commencement of the judgment of the living—in the sealing period of the 144,000, and before the “Loud Cry” of the Third Angel’s Message; being the period of the @9first@7 fruits of the harvest. The five wise virgins were they who trusted in God and His word only; having no confidence in man, and were hungry for truth, searching for light, and gladly accepting it when it came. Thus they received the seal of God’s approval, their sins were blotted out, and their lives made sure—they passed from condemnation and death into glory and life eternal. They are God’s servants, kings and priests—144,000 in number.

@@@^The Revelator, in a vision about 96 A.D., was permitted to look into both apartments. A voice from heaven said to him: “Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which @9must be hereafter@7.” Then he saw a throne set, and one sat on the throne, and before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto a crystal. (See Rev. 4:1-6.) The voice told him that the things which he saw were to be “@9hereafter@7;” that is, in the future from the time of the vision. Hence, it is evident that there was no throne there at that time—about 62 years after Christ had ascended to the Father. Therefore, Christ sat on the right hand of God, but not on the throne in the sanctuary. What, then? Has God more than one throne? “Throne” is a seat, and wherever @9God@7 sits, there His throne is. Note that “around and before the throne” @9in the sanctuary@7, is the “@9sea of glass.@7”

@@@^The description of the place is such that it bears evidence of being in the heavenly sanctuary. The same is supported by the Spirit of Prophecy: “As in vision the apostle John was granted a view of the @9Temple@7 of God in heaven, he beheld there ‘seven lamps of fire burning before the throne.’ He saw an angel ‘having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.’ Here the prophet was permitted to behold the first apartment of the @9sanctuary@7 in heaven; and he saw there the ‘seven lamps of fire’ and the ‘golden altar’ represented by the golden candlestick and the altar of incense in the sanctuary on earth. Again, ‘the temple of God was @9opened@7’, and he looked @9within the inner vail@7, upon the holy of holies. Here he beheld ‘the ark of His testament,’ represented by the sacred chest constructed by Moses to contain the law of God.”—“Patriarchs and Prophets,” page 356.

@@@^The glory of God is represented by the likeness of precious stones. The rainbow reveals God’s never failing promise and great mercy. God said to Noah: “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my @9bow@7 in the cloud, and it shall be for a @9token of a covenant @7between Me and the earth.” (Gen. 9:12, 13.)

@@@^@9The seven lamps@7 of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.” (Rev. 4:5.) The lamps of fire, seven in number, present before the throne, represent completeness of the truth of God—present truth revealed to every generation since the world began—by which we are judged. Those who are obedient to all the light and truth given them, have come up to the requirements—they are sealed, and cleared from the condemnation of the law of God.

@@@^In the following scripture we behold the entire universe watching with intense interest the affairs of the human family as the scroll unrolls, revealing to them the mystery of God: “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 3:9.) Quoting Revelation 5:11-14, “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saving, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.” The Scripture quoted proves that the entire universe is satisfied with the love of God, and the righteousness of Christ. We repeat Rev. 5:13: “And @9every@7 creature which is @9in heaven@7, and on the @9earth@7, and @9under@7 the earth, and such as are in the sea, and @9all@7 that are in @9them@7, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”

@@@^Their disbelief in the word of God spoken by Noah, impelled them, in defiance of God, to engage in building the tower of Babel as a defense against a second flood. (See Gen. 11:3, 4.) God’s displeasure over their ignorance of His power, and disbelief in His word, caused Him to destroy the tower and confound their language. “So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth… Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.” (Gen. 11:8, 9.) The confusion at the tower of Babel gave birth to the races and languages. As they parted in separated tribes, the neighboring ones began to quarrel one with another. As they grew to nations, their quarrels turned into wars.

@@@^As there is no record of idol-worship before that time, the black horse must represent the period from that date to the Christian era. Evidently Israel after the flesh comes under the period of the black horse. In each instance, when the world reached the climax of Satanic deception, God, in His mercy and love for sinners, was compelled to make certain moves to preserve human probation. At that time He could not destroy the sinners from the face of the earth and yet keep His promise to Noah. To assure the preservation of the covenant He called out Abram from idolatry to the worship of the true God, starting out a separate nation by one family similar to that of Adam and Noah; and the result was that the twelve Patriarchs of Israel came forth, of whom God made one great nation.

@@@^The “householder” in the parable has reference to God the Father, for the parable is to reveal the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, the vineyard is the world and those sent to labor in it are the church. The parable cannot refer to one literal day of twelve hours, into which God has made @9five calls@7 for laborers in the vineyard (world); for there is no record where God raised five church organizations in one day, and had them operating all at the same time. Therefore, the calls in the parable must extend over a period of world history in connection with the church, and that period Jesus allegorically compares to a twelve-hour day into which He hired laborers on five different occasions. If we can locate the time to which each one of these calls refer, then we shall fully comprehend the lesson and the time in which we are living. We shall endeavor to prove that the parable has reference to the “wheat and barley,” each for a “penny.”

@@@^God’s servants shall have no time or desire for the cares of this world, for there is a city prepared for them whose builder and maker is God. As we have just enough time to get ready for translation, we must not let the enemy steal our precious moments. Because the work is so broad, its expansion so vast, and its importance so great, God has inspired modern science to invent, and build speedy equipment to quickly finish His work. “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall @9run to and fro@7, and @9knowledge shall be increased@7. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” (Dan. 12:4, 10.)

@@@^Here we see another type. God’s truth to the world @9before the Bible came@7, coincides with His truth @9in the time of the Bible@7, showing that God has but one truth, one Christ, and one gospel in all ages. Therefore, the idea taught by self-styled ministers of the gospel that God had one method of saving people before the Bible came into existence, another in the Old Testament time with the descendants of Abraham, and still another for the New and the Gentiles, etc., is a deception of the Devil and there is no truth in it. Not only the things written prove the truth and exposes the error but even common reasoning tells us there can be no justice in such an ever-changing method of salvation—“For I am the Lord, I change not.”

@@@^Is the one who calls for obedience to the truth according to the Word of God tearing down or the ones who have broken every true principle of the message we bear? Who has caused divisions? Is it he who calls for obedience to the Word, or the one who refuses to hear a call from Heaven? Do you recall that the Christian church was split in seven reformatory sections because the messages were rejected? Who is the one that should be “shunned?” Is it he who accepts truth regardless of where it comes, or the one who allows prejudice to bar his mind from receiving the truth? Your claim of having all the truth, and that there is need of none, is denying every word written to the church. It is rejecting in advance every message of truth or light God may choose to send. It is shutting God out, and cutting the church loose from His stretched out arm. It is a preparatory step toward sinning against the Holy Ghost. Your assertion that there shall be no more prophets, is casting off before hand the latter rain and the “@9loud cry!@7” It is denying the Word in its prophetic form, for we read: “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters @9shall prophesy@7, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” (Joel 2:28.)

@@@^History proves that many have risen against the channel God has used to reveal His Holy Word. So it is now. Some say: “If God will speak to His people, He may do so through one of our leading men.” That may be so, but where is the evidence that He cannot call a more humble instrument from the flock of his sheep? Historical facts prove that He seldom reveals himself through great men. Why should He change His method now? Others throw reflections against God’s servants because of their external appearance, nativity, or rudiments of speech, etc. My brethren, will you limit the Father and Creator of the human race by your restrictions to a nation, man or country, by your narrow minded and self-conceited wisdom? The heart that conceives such unreasonable theologies through self-esteem, is like the proud pharisee in comparison with the penitent publican. These wise and self-dignified ideologists are the most ignorant ones, for by so doing, they allow the father of self-exaltation to rob them of life, and eternity. While such men are blinded to their own destruction, they are very wise and useful agents for the enemy of souls. For by their usurpation they carry a never ending influence like a “pebble thrown in the lake; a wave is formed, and another and still another, and as they increase, the circle widens, until it reaches the very shore.”
