Romans 15:3

@@@^Why does the Code say that no one is fit to teach the message, whereas Jesus commands: “Go ye therefore and teach all nations,” and “sow beside all waters”? Moreover, “if we confesss our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” Why, then, can we not go and teach God’s Word?

Romans 15:6

@@@^Tracing the history of God’s church down through the ages, we find that if all had taken the same position as the questioner, the advancing Truth would never have reached the church. If God’s messengers in different periods had failed to agitate their messages in their own churches, how, then, would the various reformatory messages have reached His people? Is He not more interested in them than He is in the heathen? John the Baptist, Jesus, and the apostles, all sacrificed their lives in order to take their messages to their own church. Why, then, should not the @9Rod@7 believers do likewise?

1 Corinthians 17:1

@@@^Is there any comparison between the church described in The Acts and the one at the present time? Where is the power of the Holy Ghost in the church today? In the early church everyone was filled with It! Where do we read of the apostles’ ever trying to raise financial goals? But how often do we hear that many of those who are brought into the church today, go out. And how few of those who remain are really converted to the Truth. Why such woeful waste, such pitiful loss? And why so many tares choking up the wheat? Jesus says: “@9While men slept,@7 his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” Matt. 13:25. Why? — obviously because the watchmen on the walls of Zion are asleep. (See @9Testimonies@7, Vol. 5, p. 235.)

1 Corinthians 23:1

@@@^Brethren, we must “sigh and cry” against the sins in the church; not against the message which is to seal us for translation and make us a people fitly symbolized by the mountains of brass. Your sighing and crying for the abominations done in her “midst,” makes you eligible for the “mark”; but should you attempt to shield the abominations, you shall fall under the slaughter weapons of the angels. The church is to be purified and made clean and fit to be God’s Dwelling Place. In no other way can she be identified as the “mountain of brass,” the symbol of endurance. This is the church that shall “enter upon her final conflict,” and the one with whom the dragon is to be “wroth:” for the symbolical “woman” and “her seed,” @9as a body, keep@7 the commandments of God and have the “testimony of Jesus Christ.” Rev. 12:17.

1 Corinthians
1 Corinthians 26:3

@@@^The consecutive order of the chariots indicates a series of gospel events. “In the first chariot were red horses.” That the color red stands for bloodshed, the Spirit of Prophecy bears out: “As we were traveling along, we met a company . . . I noticed @9red@7 as a border on their garments . . . I asked Jesus who they were. He said they were @9martyrs@7 that had been slain for Him.” — @9Early Writings@7, pp. 18,19. The red border on the garments of this company being emblematic of martyrdom, obviously, then, the red color of the “horses” denotes the martyred leaders of the church before 538 A.D.

1 Corinthians 55:1

@@@^“What would Jesus say to us today if He were here? Would He undertake to cleanse the temples of our hearts and to drive out the spirit of Sadduceeism, of materialism, of worldly conformity? I believe He would. I believe what we need today, as a group of educators and leaders, more than anything else, is something that cannot come to us from any committee on resolutions, and that is a revival of primitive godliness. Would God that this convention may not close until that something comes to us — not a revival of merely lip service. But a revival of heart and of life, a change of practice, a change that will help us to true up our objectives in this great movement. Today I plead with you all to take your eyes off the world, and fix them upon the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. Let us talk more about what He is to this movement, than we do about some other things that engage so much of our time and conversation . . . ” — @9Review and Herald@7, Vol. 114, No. 41, October 14, 1937, pp. 4-6.

1 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 9:7

@@@^Since it is after the earth swallows the flood, that the dragon is to be wroth with the woman and to go “to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Rev. 12:16, 17), there is no escaping the conclusion that the harvest, in taking away Satan’s flood, his multiplied tares, does not bring the millennium of peace. Indeed not, but rather it brings his wrath—the time of trouble such as never was: the time in which God’s people in Babylon are called to “come out of her” and into His purified church—the Kingdom.

2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 15:9

@@@^In a subject involving the Kingdom, Sister White wrote: “’Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.’ Man in his present state is mortal, corruptible; but the kingdom of God will be incorruptible, enduring forever. Therefore man in his present state cannot enter into the kingdom of God. But when Jesus comes, He confers immortality upon His people; and then He calls them to inherit the kingdom of which they have hitherto been only heirs.

2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 21:8

@@@^Will you please help harmonize the Bible and @9The Shepherd’s Rod@7 with Sister White’s writings in regard to the setting up of the Kingdom? The Scriptures consistently teach, as the @9Rod@7 over and over shows, that the Kingdom is to be set up before the second advent. But @9Early Writings@7, pp. 75, 76, teaches that “Jerusalem never would be built up.” And @9The Great Controversy@7, pp. 322, 323, teaches that “not until the personal advent of Christ can His people receive the kingdom. . . . But when Jesus comes, He confers immortality upon His people; and then He calls them to inherit the kingdom of which they have hitherto been only heirs.”

2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 22:6

@@@^Nevertheless, @9The Great Controversy@7 does not fail to make clear that the @9establishment@7 of the Kingdom and the @9inheriting@7 of it are two different events: While the apostles “were not to behold the coming of the kingdom in their day,” it says, “the fact that Jesus bade them pray for it, is evidence that in God’s own time it will surely come.

2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 23:15

@@@^Though the gospel of love inspires us to love the Lord, the doctrines teach us the right way to love Him, and the light of the prophecies guides our feet in the straight and narrow path along the way to the city of God, just as at night the lights of an automobile show the way home. Thus while we need the one, we just as much need the other. The @9Rod@7 therefore combines both, teaching the love of Jesus through the doctrines, and the way to the Holy City through the prophecies.

2 Corinthians
Galatians 7:4

@@@^Whosoever has been converted to Christianity, accepting Christ as his personal Saviour, has had an experience which has completely overthrown and revolutionized his former plans and hopes, his entire way of life. He has renounced the world and all its “pleasures of sin for a season” (Heb. 11:25), and has become a new creature in Christ, born again, heir of the kingdom according to the promise! This is what Jesus meant when He declared to Nicodemus: “Ye must be born again.” And Paul, having this experience in mind, says: “If ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Gal. 3:29.

Galatians
Galatians 10:2

@@@^Since, therefore, history, logic, and scripture combine their evidences to prove unconditionally that God has preserved the genealogy of the chosen branch of the human race forward from Adam to Noah (Matt. 1:1-17), and backward from Jesus to Adam (Luke 3:23-38), He must, then, for a consistent reason, also have preserved the identity of the elect today. And this we see, is precisely what He has done in His designating the lineage of the 144,000, as “of all the tribes of the children of Israel.” Rev. 7:4. And though we know not what we are, and cannot ever of ourselves tell, the One Who knows all about us, even to the last hair of each head, knows our precise ancestry, although those of us who are to be gathered from the seed of Jacob are, says the prophet, as the sand of the sea,” whereas, comparatively speaking, the identifiable Jewish race of today, is but a handful to the nations, and therefore cannot today be the ones to whom apply

Galatians
Galatians 22:1

@@@^Here are brought to view two hurtings about to take place: one by the winds, the other by the angels; and two commands to the angels: one that they restrain the winds, that the winds blow not “on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree” (Rev. 7:1); the other that the angels restrain themselves from hurting “the earth, . . . sea,” and “the trees,” till the servants of God are sealed. Rev. 7:2, 3). Since, therefore, as soon as the servants of God are sealed both the winds and the angels will begin to hurt the question arises as to what the work of the winds and the work of the angels represent — political strife or something else? As the nations have always been at war, this two-fold work of hurting could not represent political strife. And as Jesus says that at the time of the end “nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” (Matt. 24:7), it is clear that the hurting by the winds, also the hurting by the angels both of which are kept back until the 144,000 are sealed, must be figurative of holding back the “time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation.” Dan. 12:1. Accordingly, God’s restraining of the four winds is His holding back the image of the beast’s activity (Rev. 13:15-17) against the saints, while His restraining the four angels that they hurt not is His holding back the executing of His vengeance (Isa. 63:1-4; Jer. 51:18) upon the sinners who trouble the church, until after the sealing of the 144,000 is completed. Being coupled, these two hurtings bring the time of trouble such as never was.

Galatians 27:2

@@@^Again: “In cleansing the temple from the world’s buyers and sellers, Jesus announced His mission,” first, “to cleanse the heart from the defilement of sin, — from the earthly desires, the selfish lusts, the evil habits, that corrupt the soul” (@9The Desire of Ages@7, p.161); and second, to cleanse the entire church from sin and sinners. As twice (once in the closing of John the Baptist’s proclamation of the kingdom, and in the opening of the gospel dispensation, at the beginning of Christ’s ministry, and once at the close of His work and at the opening of the apostles’ — @9Special Testimonies to Ministers@7, No. 7, p. 54) He cleansed the temple from the unholy practices by which the Jews had desecrated it (John 2:15 16; Matt. 21:12, 13), He thereby twice gave warning in type that also in the closing of the Christian dispensation, He will twice cleanse His church: once at the sealing of the first fruits the 144,000, and again at the sealing of the second fruits, the “great multitude.” Rev. 7:1-9.

Galatians 93:2

@@@^“I Jesus have sent Mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” Rev. 22:16. “Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land and behold, it is very good: and are ye still?” (Judges 18:9.) Be not slothful, act promptly, get ready, follow

Galatians 100:2

@@@^And “if any man serve Me,” said Jesus, “let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me, him will My Father honour.” John 12:26. Also “he shall call upon Me,” says the Psalmist, “and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.” Ps. 91:15.

Galatians
Galatians 108:1

@@@^Thus towers forth the structure of truth, sending forth the message that the kingdom is to be restored by the antitypical prophet Elijah, just before the close of probation, but that the earth being unfit for saints to dwell on it eternally, Jesus shall therefore “come again” and receive all the redeemed (both those who are raised from their graves and those who shall be found alive at His coming — 1 Thess. 4:16, 17), and shall take them to the mansions above, which He has gone to prepare (John 14:3). Then as the saints ascend and the wicked die, the earth will be left empty and dark (Jer. 4:23-29) for a thousand years (Rev. 20:3), after which the Lord shall descend with the saints (Rev. 21:1-3), purify the earth with fire (2 Pet. 3:10-13), and fit it anew for the saints’ eternal abode (Isa. 45:18)!

Ephesians 21:1

@@@^“I saw,” says the servant of the Lord, “...an angel with a writer’s inkhorn by his side returned @9from the earth@7, and @9reported@7 to Jesus that his work was done, and the saints were numbered and sealed.” — @9Early Writings@7, p. 279. Here is his second report, made at the completion of the sealing in the world — the sealing of the second fruits, the great multitude.

@@@^But following his second report, “...all the angelic host laid off their crowns as Jesus made the solemn declaration, ‘He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.’” — @9Early Writings@7, pp. 279, 280.
