@@@^Now we read of another throne: “And he shewed me a pure @9river of water of life@7, clear as crystal, @9proceeding out of the throne@7 of God and the Lamb.” (Rev. 22:1.) Again, note that from one of the thrones proceeds the “@9river of life,@7” but from the other, the “@9sea of glass.@7” Therefore, there are two thrones. Christ sat at the right hand of God on the throne from which proceeds the “river of life,” for this is the one called, “@9the throne of God and the lamb.@7” This is God’s eternal place of abode; but the one in the sanctuary was set for the time being, (See Dan. 7:9, 10), during Christ’s ministration in the holiest of all, which is a throne of judgment—of blotting out sins and granting of rewards. The one from which proceeds the river of life is a throne of @9life@7 and of eternity.
Exodus 198:2
@@@^“The seven lamps … which are the seven Spirits of God.” (Rev. 4:5.) This Scripture proves the fact that light and truth are revealed by the Spirit of God only. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26.) The rejecting of light and present truth is the sin against the Holy Ghost. “And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost [present truth] it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” (Matt. 12:32.) Our attitude towards present truth would “Either make a tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.” (Matt. 12:33.) Thus, present truth has the power to change the individual and fit him for eternal life, which is the seal of the living God. Said Jesus: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of @9water@7 and of the @9Spirit@7, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5.)
Exodus 201:1
@@@^It is Christ who has prepared the way for this judicial procedure to plead for His people, and to blot out their sins. “In the typical service, only those who had come before God with confession and repentance, and whose sins, through the blood of the sin offering, were transferred to the sanctuary, had a part in the service in the day of atonement. So in the great day of final atonement and investigative judgment, the only cases considered are those of the professed people of God. The judgment of the wicked is a distinct and separate work, and takes place at a later period. ‘Judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel?’ As the books of record are opened in the judgment, the lives of all who have believed on Jesus come in review before God. Beginning with those who first lived upon the earth, our Advocate presents the cases of each successive generation, and closes with the living.”—“The Great Controversy,” pp. 480, 483.
Exodus 205:6
@@@^“Behold a white horse: and he that sat on him … went forth conquering and to conquer.” The symbolical words are the fulfillment of the words spoken by the Creator’s lips: “And God blessed them (Adam and Eve), and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.” (Gen. 1:28.) It was God’s plan to multiply the human family, and to have them subdue the earth. Therefore, Adam went conquering and to conquer. Though sin entered, and death claimed the human family, God’s plan has been carried out, and the earth is inhabited. Thus he “went forth conquering and to conquer.”
Exodus 206:1
@@@^“And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a @9bow@7.” The bow is an implement used to conquer with (replenish). Therefore, Adam was given a bow (Eve) corresponding with the words: “And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof: And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” (Gen. 2:18, 21-23.) “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve: because she was the @9mother of all living.@7” (Gen. 3:20.) Thus this sacred institution was originated by the Creator of the universe. “ ‘Marriage is honorable’; it was one of the first gifts of God to man, and it is one of the two institutions that, after the fall, Adam brought with him beyond the gates of Paradise.”—“Patriarchs and Prophets,” p. 46. Thus Adam conquered (inhabited the earth) with the bow (Eve).
Exodus 217:4
@@@^The prophet saw Christ himself returning from the slaughter of the Edomites—the class who were deceiving God’s people in the church, the tares, or adversaries who had trodden down His sanctuary. “Bozrah” means “sheepfold”—the church. He saw His garments stained with the blood of the tares, in delivering His people from their hands. The prophet asked: “Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth the winefat?” The purification of the church makes it necessary for Christ to leave the place of judgment and descend to deliver His redeemed (the 144,000), and this is what causes the judgment to cease, and the voices to be silenced for about half an hour—seven days. The Spirit of Prophecy bears witness of the same. “The Lord Jesus shall rise up from His mediatorial work in the heavenly sanctuary, and shall clothe himself with the garments of vengeance, and surprise them at their unholy feast; and they will find themselves unprepared for the marriage supper of the Lamb.”—“Testimonies for the Church,” vol. 5, p. 690. Peter, looking forward to the purification of God’s church, and the commencement of the judgment for the living, says: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17.)
Exodus 219:2
@@@^The great reformation in view, vividly represented by the angel at the golden altar with the prayers of the saints, and the casting of the fire from the altar to the earth, is foretold, also, in the following testimony: “In visions of the night representations passed before me of a great reformatory movement among God’s people. Many were praising God. The sick were healed, and other miracles were wrought. A spirit of intercession was seen; even as was manifested before the great day of Pentecost. Hundreds and thousands were seen visiting families, and opening before them the word of God. Hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, and a spirit of genuine conversion was manifest. On every side doors were thrown open to the proclamation of the truth. The world seemed to be lightened with the heavenly influence. Great blessings were received by the true and humble people of God.”—“Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 9, p. 126.
Exodus 266:1
@@@^Jacob, the father in type of Israel the true, dreamed on the way to Padan-Aram, “And behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.” (Gen. 28:12, 17.) Jacob’s dream was prophetic of a time when there will be a complete connection and constant communication with heaven and earth—the “@9loud cry@7” of the third angel’s message—the harvest time. To that glorious church these words apply: “@9This@7 is the house of God and the gate of heaven.” Only by the gospel proclamation through that Spiritual house can God save His people. There is to be One fold, One Shepherd, One Lord, One Truth to embrace, One salvation to accept, One road to travel, One gate to pass through, One train to take, and One time to depart, One Heaven to enter, One people, and One holy family. There can be no other way!
Exodus 284:1
@@@^The revelation of the @9olive trees@7 is found in the eleventh chapter and the fourth verse: “These are the two @9olive trees, @7and the @9two candlesticks@7 standing before the God of the earth.” The olive trees and the two candlesticks are the @9two witnesses@7. (See Rev. 11:3.) Zechariah also states that “These are the two @9anointed@7 ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.” (Zech. 4:14.) Therefore, these two olive trees, and two candlesticks are inseparable, for they both “stand by the Lord of the @9whole@7 earth.” The @9two@7 candlesticks in this instance represent God’s church in two sections, and each one has an @9olive tree@7. The angel interpreted them to Zechariah as the Word of God to Zerubbabel. Therefore, the @9two candlesticks@7 represent the @9Old@7 and @9New Testament@7 churches (Jewish and Christian). And the @9two olive trees@7 are symbols of the @9Old@7 and @9New@7 Testament Bible (the Word of God to Zerubbabel). These two witnesses “shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and three score days (from 538 A.D. to 1798 A.D.) clothed in sackcloth.” (Rev. 11:3.) “The two Witnesses represent the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament.”—“The Great Controversy,” p. 267.
Exodus 299:3
@@@^“And God said unto Abraham Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. @9And Abraham rose up early in the morning@7, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away.” (Gen. 21:12, 14.) “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And He said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. @9And Abraham rose up early in the morning@7, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him… And Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me . . . And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing will I bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies, And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; @9because thou has obeyed my voice.@7” (Gen. 22:1-3, 9-12, 15-18.)
1 Samuel 6:1
@@@^The so-called condemnations, criticisms, and denunciations ”the pricks” against which both the “angel” (leadership–Rev. 1:20; 3:14) of the Laodiceans and the candlestick itself (church) are “kicking” and crying out in all manners of ways, are no more the sentiments of those who proclaim the message to the church at this time than were the condemnations which John the Baptist denounced upon the Jewish church his own, but the words of God which He has solemnly adjured to speak forth in fear and favor of none. Therefore, if they wish to think our position critical, ungenteel, and unsavory, let then bethink themselves of the words and demeanor of Elijah, John the Baptist, Luther, Sister White, aye every messenger God ever had, and they shall find that they are unwittingly placing us in chosen company and are in perilous danger of making God a liar over the sort of company He says He keeps and the caliber of His friends. Let them realize that they are foolishly condemning and laying to our charge that which is God’s responsibility.
2 Samuel 9:15
@@@^Hence, the statement, “He has not only removed the ‘candlestick’ but is calling for the tithes and offerings into ‘His storehouse’ of present truth, and also for 144,000 servants,” explains itself that God has removed the candlestick (church) from the charge of the “angel” (Rev. 3:14)–the present ministry. The Spirit of Prophecy says this will be done”...When the work goes forward under the direction of the angel who joins the third angel in the message to be given to the world. God will use ways and means by which it will be seen that He is taking @9the reins in His own hands@7. The workers will be surprised by the simple means that He will use to bring about and perfect His work of righteousness.” T.M. 300. Again, in Vol. 5, p. 80 we read that God will put aside those “self-sufficient, independent of God” whom “He can not use,” and will @9disclose to view@7” those “precious ones now hidden, who have not bowed a knee to Baal.”
1 Kings 4:2
@@@^“The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light, and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interest of the people, @9had betrayed their trust@7. They had taken the position that @9we need not look for miracles@7 and the @9marked manifestation of God’s power@7 as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say, The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. @9He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment@7. @9Thus peace@7 and @9safety@7 is the @9cry@7 from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God’s people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs, that would not bark, are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children, @9all@7 perish together.” 5 T 211.
Ezra 4:3
@@@^Therefore, now “the Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people. The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of His people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses. What mean ye that ye beat My people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord God of hosts.” (Isa. 3:13-15.) (The Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 1, p. 270 says “The prophecy of Isaiah 3, was presented before me, as applying to these last days.”) “I saw,” says the Spirit of Prophecy, “that it is in the providence of God that widows and orphans, the blind, the deaf, the lame, and persons afflicted in a variety of ways, have been placed in close Christian relationship to His church; it is to prove His people and develop their true character. Angels of God are watching to see how we treat these persons who need our sympathy, love, and disinterested benevolence. This is God’s test of our character.”–“Testimonies for the Church,” Vol. 3, p. 511.
Ezra 9:8
@@@^“Let the neglected tithes be now brought in. Let the new year open upon you as men honest in their deal with God. Let those that have withheld their tithes send them in before the year 1896 shall close, that they may be right with God, and never, never again run any risk of being cursed of God. Presidents of our conferences, do your duty. Labor from home to home, that the flock of God shall not be remiss in this great matter, which involves such a blessing or such a curse.
Ezra 9:9
@@@^“Let all who fear God come up to the help of the Lord, and show themselves faithful stewards. The truth must go to all parts of the world. I have been shown that many in our churches are robbing God in tithes and offerings. God will execute upon them just that which He has declared. To the obedient, He will give rich blessings; to the transgressor, a curse. Every man who bears the message of truth to our churches, must do his duty by warning, educating, rebuking. Any neglect of duty which is a robbery toward God, means a curse upon the delinquent.”–“Testimonies to Ministers,” pp. 306-7
Esther 2:12
@@@^Ans. Jude 14 & 15 are explained in SRod, Vol.2, p.162, 241. However, we may add: the perfect fulfillment of this scripture embraces a period of time in which three judicial events are to expire: namely, first, the investigative judgment for the dead as He came to His heavenly temple in 1844; second, the investigative judgment for the living that is soon to take place; third, Christ’s second coming and the judgment during the millennium, and at last the final execution of His judgment after the millennium. It takes all these events to perfectly fulfill the words: “To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” (Jude 15.)
Psalms 7:4
@@@^We wonder how any one could possibly become as blind as those accusing Jews, and yet, right now, within the church of God’s professed people, a spirit of denunciation is bracing itself for a greater and final conflict against those whose eyes have been opened! and though the Spirit of Prophecy declares that “The same disobedience and failure which were seen in the Jewish church have characterized in a greater degree the people who have had this great light from Heaven in the last messages of warning” 5T:456, they still continue in their evil course! Consequently, the prophetic fulfillment of the above is now manifested throughout the church of God, with the result that it is almost unbelievable of the number of God fearing souls that have been put out and that are about to be put out of the church for nothing less than for taking advantage of their God-given liberty to investigate and know the truth for themselves!
Song of Solomon 7:2
@@@^Satan will have you busy, if he can, watching others that you may forget or have no time to watch yourselves. He, by pointing to the mistakes and errors of those who are not led by God’s Spirit, would have you in constant fear that even those whom God is leading Himself will make a mistake. Thus endeavoring to keep you blind of the mistakes that you have either already made or are about to make, thereby not only leading you into eternal ruin but also hindering the work of God by taking up the time of His servants to iron out difficulties within their own ranks. Therefore, give him no occasion to hinder God’s servants from laboring for those who need to know the truth.
Song of Solomon 10:2
@@@^Moreover, even though Brother B’s claim be correct that God had nothing to do with the lesson derived from the number of letters which the names contain, his claim does not remove the fact that inasfar as the English language is concerned with which only the “Shepherd’s Rod” is dealing is correct and free from reproach although the numerical perfection may have come about only by a chance. However, I would rather give God the credit, for as long as I employ every means to emphasize the truth and to exalt the Word I am sure in the day of judgment my deeds would be justified rather than the deeds of him who may by laxness attribute the work of God to a chance. Nevertheless, the Bible sustains the claims of “The Shepherd’s Rod” in that there is nothing hid from God and that all things are “naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.” (Heb. 1:13.)
